Google's Spotify rival YouTube Music finally hits the UK

YouTube Music Premium is available with a three month trial "for a limited time". In addition, the service is also expanding its availability in a big way, becoming available in 12 additional countries. But its trump card is YouTube, which is among the top video-streaming destinations globally.

YouTube Music is a catch-all app that brings all the music content on YouTube together with a massive catalog of audio for streaming. It means that whether or not you remembered to sync your latest playlist for offline listening, you'll always end up with fresh music to listen to if you find yourself unable to stream over Wi-Fi or 4G.

The route to YouTube Music's launch hasn't been entirely straightforward.

YouTube Premium and YouTube music have just been confirmed to become available to Canadian customers, meaning no more ads for avid streamers.

The standard YouTube Music Premium subscription costs $9.99 (£9.99) per month, or $14.99 (£14.99) per month for a Family Plan. YouTube Music is now available in 17 in total, as announced earlier this month. "That space-themed Spice Girls song in the desert" will give you the right result.

Another unique feature is Offline Mixtape, which automatically downloads songs users love for future playlists.
