American astronaut Nick Hague talks Soyuz rocket failure

Russia may resume manned space flights on November 28: Interfax

Ovchinin and Hague were forced to make an emergency landing after an accident on their rocket minutes after blast-off to the International Space Station, with the rapid deceleration subjecting them to a painful G-force overload.

Shortly after its launch on october 11, a Soyuz rocket malfunctioned, causing the crewmembers to experience an emergency landing.

"This has only helped to solidify my appreciation for how robust that system is", Hague told reporters on Tuesday, in his first press appearance since last week's abortive launch to the International Space Station (ISS).

"All of my instincts and reflexes inside the capsule are to speak Russian", said Hague, who had two years of training in Russia.

NASA astronaut praises Soyuz in 1st appearance after near-disaster Astronaut Nick Hague, who was aboard the ill-fated Soyuz MS-10 last week, has praised the spacecraft's designers and builders for the system that saved the crew's lives when the rocket booster malfunctioned.

The investigation is still going on in the Russian space agency Roscosmos and it can be expected that more details will be provided soon.

"When NASA wants me to fly, I'm ready to go", he said, including aboard the Soyuz, now the only vehicle capable of taking humans into space.

Hague said that the crew did not experience any extreme temperatures during their journey back to Earth.

Trump escalates his attack on Fed: 'My biggest threat'
Earlier this month, Powell said it was "a reasonable question " when a journalist asked if the economy was too good to be true. "My biggest threat is the Fed , because the Fed is raising rates too fast", Trump told the Fox Business host Trish Regan.

Mr Hague said he and his crewmate grinned at touchdown, shook hands and then joked about their short flight.

The main booster cut off its power automatically because of the problem which occurred just 119 seconds into the flight. His youngest wanted to know when he was going back to space.

He said he would rather be in orbit, getting ready for a spacewalk, but is grateful to be alive.

At the moment, the commission is investigating the disintegrated elements of the launch vehicle that were taken from the ground to see exactly what lead to this event. "Sometimes you don't get a vote", Hague said.
