Large study again confirms MMR vaccine doesn't cause autism

Bulgaria New Large Scale Study Confirms Yet Again that Vaccines do not Cause Autism

In recent years there has been a surge in outbreaks and deaths from diseases that are vaccine-preventable - such as measles - and one of the prime contentions of the anti-vax community is that vaccines such as the MMR (for measles, mumps, and rubella) cause autism. "I think people need to realize that a choice not to get a vaccine is not a risk-free choice".

Since Wakefield's fraudulent study was released, there have been over 140 peer-reviewed articles, published in relatively high impact factor or specialized journals that document the lack of a correlation between autism and vaccines.

Yet the myth of a link between vaccines and autism continues to be used by anti-vaccine activists, who have been blamed for the ongoing measles outbreaks across the United States.

Also this week, the American Academy of Pediatrics wrote to Facebook, Google and Pinterest calling for the companies to do more to prevent the spread of misinformation about vaccines on their platforms.

In 2010, there were 143,734 police officers in England and Wales. A man was arrested in Leicester over her death on Tuesday.

Now, the study, which analysed data from more than 650 00 children who had been given the jab, has shot the controversial theory clear out of the water.

There is no increased risk of autism from common childhood vaccines, another large study has found.

"Parents should not skip the vaccine out of fear for autism", the study's lead author told media. Critics had complained that earlier efforts had failed to focus on the effects of the vaccine on kids at increased risk of autism, according to an editorial accompanying the new study. Anders Hviid, Jørgen Vinsløv Hansen, Morten Frisch and Mads Melbye in an article published on Tuesday in Annals of Internal Medicine, a peer-reviewed journal.

Infectious diseases expert Dr Amesh Adalja called the new study "a very powerful piece of evidence".

School Of Rock star Joey Gaydos Jr arrested for shoplifting guitars
Gaydos Jr started playing the guitar aged three, scoring the lead role in School of Rock for director Richard Linklater aged 10. The kicker? He's been deadset busted four times over the past five weeks for stealing guitars and an amplifier.

"This study, which includes over a decade of data on more than half a million children, goes further than prior studies by looking in high-autism risk subgroups", said Adalja, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, in Baltimore. Researchers also drew upon information from several databases, including the Danish Vaccinations Registry (Det Danske Vaccinationsregister) and a record of autism diagnoses.

The findings come amid heightened concerns about people forgoing vaccination with the World Health Organization recently naming vaccine hesitancy to its list of top 10 threats to global health in 2019.

"Hopefully, our study can play a small part in turning the anti-vaccine tide", Hviid said.
