Mega Millions Winner's Ex Doesn't Want Him Back, But Wants Money

Mike Weirsky a New Jersey man who left his $273 million jackpot-winning Mega Millions lottery ticket at the store where he bought it says he's going to reward whoever returned

Mike Weirsky, an unemployed and recently-divorced 54-year-old, told reporters he left the ticket at the Quick Check in Phillipsburg last Thursday because he was distracted by his phone, and only noticed it was missing once he arrived at home in Alpha, according to The Associated Press (AP) and ABC7 news. Fortunately, the person standing in line behind him was honest - and called after him. "You tell me what's the moral thing to do". The cashier "made me explain what I bet and what the tickets were, and she handed them to me, and I walked out".

Now, he's trying to find the person who turned in his tickets at the store. I had to give him a lot of money in the divorce. "And I just got up and ran upstairs, got dressed and I said, 'I've got to go find out if it's real, '" he said.

Met Eireann issues snow warning for entire country this weekend
As for the rest of the weekend, cold weather will likely lead to some rain, hail, sleet and snow in areas across the country. The warning comes into effect at 1am tonight and will remain in place until 8 am Saturday morning.

"After that, I am basically locked into what my lawyer and other people that I got working for me tell me I can do", he said. "I was doing the right thing, and I'd do it again".

Lottery officials said Thursday that if the person who found the tickets had held onto them and signed them, they could have claimed the jackpot. "If you think about it, it's very hard to say who owns a lottery ticket, short of someone coming in here and saying, 'I purchased this ticket, it's mine, ' " he said. "Yesterday I got my first interview", he says, "It's just a miracle".

Decked out in Yankees gear, Weirsky said he's going to "sit back and enjoy" the money. "I try to take that with me everywhere I go".
